Abstract
The first international student state committee was established in Western Australia in October 2018. The day was celebrated with a mutual launch of the Premier’s IE Strategy. The state committee aims to encourage international students from all cohorts. The full council of the committee holds representatives from WA institutions to be a credible student voice. It is a platform where students apply their learnings through various positions in the management committee. Students work to help other international students by improving their skills such as leadership, emotional intelligence, professional development and conflict management. In collaboration with the sector, they aim to empower international students in Western Australia. International students want to implement a similar template in other state and territories. This session will analyse different aspects of this adventure. The leaders of the committee will tell their experiences, areas for collaboration and future strategies.
